The Game
FomoWar is a decentralized, trustless blockchain game running directly on the Ethereum network. Here are the basics of how FomoWar works:
This is a lottery game in which the last person to buy a Bomb at the end of a round wins the pot!
During a round, people can purchase 1 or more Bombs which adds time to the timer and marks them as the current leader. With each Bomb purchase during the round, the Bomb price increases slightly.
Players receive a stream of passive income from the game as Bombs are bought during the round. These rewards can be withdrawn anytime.
When the timer reaches zero, last person to buy a Bomb wins! (FomoWar players/Bomb holders get a piece too!)
With a few cool added game mechanics:
Players select from one of four teams which determine certain rules during the round.
Bomb holders receive dividends on each Bomb purchase and at the end of the round.
Players can purchase a vanity URL and/or refer your friends to the game for 15% extra rewards.

Game Modes
FomoWar is split up into two separate games each designed with custom rule sets to generate different experiences, volumes, and different scales of jackpots: long and quick. Long is launching first, and then quick will be launched at a later date.
Notable differences include that long does not have an ICO phase, uses different timer durations, and has a totally different Bomb price scaling model than the quick mode. Quick mode details will be updated in near future.
Magic Blockchain Technology:
FomoWar is a decentralized application (Dapp) running on the Ethereum network. The game consists of a smart contract (an autonomous program on the Ethereum network) carefully programmed and deployed so that we as developers have no influence or impact upon the game, the Ethereum in the contract, or advantages thereof. The application itself is completely trustless, will run until the Ethereum network dies and will only be paid out according to the game rules.

Understanding Blockchain Games
The core functionality of this game is entirely powered only by a deployed open-source Ethereum smart contract. Smart contracts are immutable and this means there is no one who has access to these funds but this autonomous program. You can see the full source code for the contract managing this exchange at any time.
This specifics of interacting with a blockchain game may surprise you at first. This section tries to lay out the important things to understand:
Smart contracts require a transaction to be sent for every action taken. This means that every action you take on the exchange requires a transaction to be sent through by the user on the Ethereum network. All actions including buying Bombs, withdrawing from your vault, picking a vanity name, etc, require a "0" ETH transaction to be sent (with GAS which costs Ether, make sure you account for this!). This is why you see so many "0" ether transactions here.
The FomoWar smart contract manages all the funds for this exchange. However, accessing secure smart contract data can be a bit slow at times under high load which is why the game front-end site often may feel sluggish.
Referrals and Vanity
The FomoWar referral system is called the "Advisory Board". To join the advisory board, click the "Vanity Name" link at the top and then pick a nickname for yourself. Joining the board costs 0.01ETH which is contributed to the "community fund" and distributed to developers and community staff. Note that you must register a vanity name to receive referral rewards ("Affiliate commission") in your vault.
This name will show up on the leaderboard, and at the top if you are the current holder of the private keys. Your vanity name is also included in the referral URL you share with others. Your names, your player ID and your wallet address will all work for referrals (i.e

Once you are an advisor, you can copy your referral link from the "Vanity and Referrals Tab" and share that with friends or members from other discords. You will earn 15% of all the ETH put into the game by anyone that joins FomoWar through your link. This referral fee is paid to you for everyone you refer for all of their buys and reinvests. And this is all at no cost to them.
In FomoWar, referral links used by players are stored within the smart contract itself meaning that you will receive the referral fee for buys from all players you referred even across browsers or different computers ensuring that those marketing the game can receive substantial residual income over time from players. Essentially, FomoWar referrals are super-sticky. You will continue to receive referral rewards from someone up until the point they purchase using someone else's referral link.
In the event that a player purchases keys/Bombs without using a referral code and has never used a referral code previously, then that referral fee is instead paid as dividends to all Bomb holders( FomoWar Players)!
Game Overview
This is a game in which the grand prize winner is the last person to purchase a Bomb before the countdown timer runs down to zero.
During a round, a timer is constantly counting down to zero. Every time a Bomb is purchased, the buyer becomes the new "holder of the private Bombs" and additional time is added to the countdown. The price of the Bombs will now start to get slightly more expensive with each purchase. When the timer reaches zero, the last person to have bought a Bomb wins the round!
At the end of the round, the ETH in the pot is divvied up: the winner receives 25% of the pot, with the rest split between all FomoWar players. The specific way the ETH is divided between the FomoWar participants depends on which team the winner was representing.
Once the round ends, the game has a 1 hour grace period with transactions sent to the game passing through to your vault and Bomb purchasing is disabled. This lets players realize what happened, and get into position to buy in early on the next round.

Game Rules
Bombs are the main focus of FomoWar, You buy them directly from the contract and they change the way a round is played, and when/how a round will end.
The game runs an internal timer which is constantly counting down to zero. When a Bomb is purchased, the timer increases by a fixed amount and the player who purchased that Bomb is put into the lead.
Bombs grant instant dividends on all volume that flows through a round, meaning you will constantly receive a stream of passive income from the game as Bombs are bought until a round ends.
Bombs slowly increase in price (along with how much of the final pot they're worth) as the round continues. You are guaranteed a portion of the pot for every Bomb you own, and betting on the final volume of a round can result in a tidy sum of Ethereum being deposited into your vault when someone wins.
The last player to have purchased at least 1 full Bomb when the FomoWar timer completes its countdown, immediately drains 25% of the Ethereum seen in the pot and ends the round. (The rest of the pot being shared among the round's players, community contributors as soon as the round ends.)
FomoWar Long
FomoWar Long is the flagship game mode, designed to encompass rounds that last days/weeks/months.
Does not operate with any ICO phase at the beginning of the round
There is a 100 ETH max purchase limit per address until 10000 ETH in contract is reached
Bomb price scaling is very slow and gradual, increasing slightly on each purchase
Each Bomb purchased add 30 seconds to the round timer, to a hard cap of 24 hours.
A round is preceded with a 1-hour starting grace period where Bomb purchases are disabled
The Teams
In FomoWar, there are four major teams that players can associate themselves with.
Every time you purchase an additional Bomb(s), you can select one of these four teams. The team you select represents both how you want your Bomb buy-in price split up as well as the pot distribution if you win the round once the timer runs out. In particular, each team is explained below:
Iron Man - "Trickle down Divinomics". Your Bomb buy-in price will have a larger share (62%) distributed to FomoWar players. After a round ends, a larger portion (62%) of the pot is distributed to Bomb holders as dividends. Iron Man push for distributing more as dividends to other players(Bomb Holders) and less to the pot.
Thor - "Feed on the greed of others". Your Bomb buy-in price will have a much larger share (50%) distributed directly to the ETH pot and less split to FomoWar players or Bomb holders. After a round ends, a larger portion of the pot is held for the next round and less given as dividends to players and holders. Thor push for keeping more of the ETH in the pot and for future rounds rather than distributed as dividends.
Hulk - "Break upwards, never stagnate". After a round ends, a larger portion (62%) of the pot is distributed to FomoWar players as dividends. Thor push for distributing more of the pot as dividends to other players and than Iron Man.
Captain - "Stand alone, fight alone". Your Bomb buy-in price will have a larger share (32%) distributed to FomoWar players. After a round ends, Captain push for distributing dividends (47%) to other FomoWar players .
At the end of a round, after the countdown timer drops to zero, the winning team determines specifically how the ETH is distributed between the winner, all FomoWar players from this round and the remainder is left over for the next round. The winning team is the one selected during the purchase of the very last Bomb in the round.
Choosing your Team
Here are few ways to decide which team you want to pick at any given point when purchasing Bombs:
Maximize the amount that goes to FomoWar players : Iron Man or Hulk
Maximize the amount going into the pot and saved for the next round: Thor or Captain
Minimize the amount going to FomoWar holders: Thor or Captain
Keep in mind that you are free to select a different team each time you purchase a new Bomb.
